    Hello,
I am a 71 yr young lady. When I was 19 yrs of age, I was told that I had ulcers. I was treated for the ulcers by taking Maalox 3 times daily for several months and not having spicy food on the menu. After 3 months, of a very bland died, another ulcer developed. I eventually had a vagotomy, which should of taken care of the ulcer situation, but did not. Even at this age, I get horrible heartburn at times, even when I have a very mild diet. I would sincerely like to try Omeprazole ODT to see if this would be the answer to my situation.

Hi Crystal! My husband has suffered from heartburn ever since I’ve known him (18 wonderful years, and I hope those two don’t have any connection). He has tried anything and everything to keep his heartburn under control. The only thing that he has found that works is Prilisec OTC. Anytime a new heartburn medicine comes out he will of course be curious to try it, but it always falls short and he goes back to Prilosec. We even stock up on the stuff at Costco. It would be interesting to see how this new Omeprezole at Walgreens stacks up compared to Prilisec OTC. Thanks for this info Crystal!

  • Jenny says:

I’ve been dealing with heartburn for about 8 years (I’m only 30!) and I have yet to find something that really helps so I end up avoiding a ton of foods and drinks. I first noticed it when I started drinking red wine and would have this burning pain in my chest. It was so unbearable that I went to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack to find out it was HEARTBURN! I quickly gave up drinking red wine. Now I have to not only stay away from red wine, but also tomatoes, coffee/tea (this is the toughest), spicy foods, Powerade and certain fruits. It really stinks sometimes, but it’s much easier to avoid these foods than to deal with the constant pain they cause me. I’ve tried EVERYTHING on the market and even home remedies to help my heartburn, but so far nothing has been super successful. I’ve tried ginger, drinking baking soda with water, licorice, apple cider vinegar, antacids (Tums, Rolaids, Zantac, etc) so I’m SUPER EXCITED to try this Omeprazole ODT at Walgreens because I would love to be able to drink coffee and wine again!!

I don’t have issues with heartburn but my husband has for years and he is always trying different OTC medications for relief. This medication looks very promising.

I personally don’t have heartburn issues, but my husband has battled with it for years! His insurance doesn’t cover all of his medication anymore, so we are looking for OTC alternatives. Hopefully this one can do the trick!

I get heartburn at night if I eat a late dinner and then sleep on my bed. I end up sleeping in a semi-reclined position I am excited to try Omeprazole ODT because I can take it without water!

This is going to sound crazy, but I had heartburn for the first time in my life two nights ago after eating frozen meatless meatballs for a later dinner. I did not sleep well and had pain in my upper abdomen and heart. I thought it was anxiety! It lasted well into the next day, especially the heart pain. I even took a low dose aspirin in case it was a heart attack! Ha! I wondered then if it could be heartburn; at 47, I had never had it. After googling it and reading this description, I am certain that is what it was. I am excited to try this product, should I ever eat meatless meatballs again (!).

I have suffered from heartburn on and off for years. It really depends on what I eat. I usually eat antacids to get relief but it never lasts very long 🙁

  • Dineen says:

I have been dealing with heartburn off and on a lot these past 2 years. It’s one of the worst feelings. I can often tell it’s because of a tomato dish I have eaten. It also sometimes seems to be related to how much water I do or don’t drink as well as if I am dealing with some other illness.

  • HS kraftmaking says:

I’m excited to try because it’s not a pill to swallow, I am not good with pills.

  • Carmen says:

My worst heartburn symptoms were when I was pregnant. I’ve had a couple of episodes where it’s intense pain.
